Thermodynamic disc steam traps discharge the condensate intermittently near the saturation temperature. The traps may operate until a back pressure of 80% of the inlet pressure, but for smooth operation it is recommended that the back pressure does not exceed 50% of the inlet pressure.
Thermodynamic steam traps of the series SV are designed for special applications in the food, pharmaceutical or other industries or for laundry applications where costs and space must be saved.
The traps of the series SV are designed with an built-in bypass at the times of start-up the trap will be opened and operate as a normal stop valve and discharges the cold condensate very quickly. When steam is coming the built-in bypass will be closed and the operation becomes a normal operation of a disc trap.
